GSMDCA POLICY FOR THE BREEDER DIRECTORY

GSMDCA Breeder Directory is advertising where individual breeders pay a fee for a listing in the directory. The Breeders Directory takes two versions:

Printed Version distributed quarterly in the newsletter
Community Version placed on the GSMDCA World Wide Web (WWW) site and forwarded in response to requests received by the GSMDCA Corresponding Secretary.

Eligibility

The Breeder Directory (BD) is open to any GSMDCA member in good standing as an Individual or Household Member for at least two years immediately prior to application. All applicants must have read the Breeder Guidelines. An asterisk will be placed after the name of breeders who have also signed the Breeder Guidelines. **(SEE NOTE BELOW)

Fees

The annual enrollment fees will be $20 for the Printed Version and $20 for the Community Version for a one-year period of advertising. Enrollees will have the option of advertising in either version for $20 each or both for $40. The advertising year will run from January 1 to December 31. Anyone enrolling in the last half of the advertising year (i.e. on or after July 1) would pay a reduced fee of $12.50 per version to be listed for the remainder of the term (i.e. through December 31).

Application

Fees for the Printed and for the Community version and the enrollment forms must be sent to the Directory Manager. After confirming the status of the applicant within the club, the Directory Manager will then forward payments to the Treasurer and forward data to the Internet Coordinator, the Newsletter Editor, and the Corresponding Secretary. Application forms will be included with each issue of the Newsletter.

Format

The format of the Breeder Directory will be simple and uniform. It will include the following:

First and Last Name (with an asterisk for those who have signed the Breeder Guidelines)

Disclaimer

The following disclaimer will be listed at the top of each page in the BD;

"Breeders who have pledged to follow the GSMDCA Breeder Guidelines are listed below with an asterisk after their name. The GSMDCA does not endorse or recommend any advertiser and/or their breeding practices. All of our breeders request that you call first for an appointment."

List Management

The Directory Manager will be the recipient of all enrollment forms and will be responsible for generating the Breeder Directory. The Internet Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the current web-site based version of the BD.

**Breeders who pledge to follow the Breeder Guidelines will be identified in the BD with an asterisk following their name. The Directory Manager will forward a list of those breeders who have signed the Breeder Guidelines but choose not be listed in the BD to the Corresponding Secretary (CS). The CS will confirm on inquiry about specific breeders if they have signed the Breeder Guidelines. Breeders must reaffirm their pledge to follow the Breeder Guidelines each year. The first week of every year the Directory Manager will send a copy of the Breeder Guidelines to members who had signed the Breeder Guidelines the previous year for their signature. Signing the Breeder Guidelines does not require a fee. The Directory Manager in the first week of the year will send an application for the Breeder Directory to those listed in the directory the previous year.
