Located in Union County south of Charlotte and close to the South Carolina border, Cane Creek Park is a 1,050-acre, family-friendly recreation area centered around a 350-acre lake, offering a scenic setting for outdoor activities and relaxation year-round. The park also features picnic areas, shelters and event spaces, as well as multiple camping options. The trails are easy to moderate with < 300 ft of elevation gain. There are lake views on a significant portion of the trail. The trails are well-marked, well-maintained packed dirt. I have selected a route that is safe, with beautiful views, moderate elevation change, and plenty of opportunities for rest periods. There are 4 road crossings for emergency exit points and two first aid stations along the path.
