| Brief Trail Description | |
| Powell Butte Nature Park is a unique 611- acre upland area, rich in natural resources and within easy reach of city dwellers. Over eight miles of trails accommodate hikers, bird watchers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. A wheelchair-accessible paved trail makes the heart of the park accessible to nature lovers of all abilities. Abundant wildlife populates the park, including rabbits, voles, raccoons, skunks, bats, chipmunks, coyotes, and black-tailed mule deer. Spring-nesting neotropical birds also live in both forest and field in the Nature Park. The Nature Park is noted for its birds of prey because its open meadows, forested slopes of Douglas-fir and big leaf maple, and wetlands together provide excellent habitat and abundant food sources. |
