DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving Weekend Pack Hikes\n· November 27\, 2020 (Friday) &  November 28\, 2020 (Saturday)\no Where: – Columbia Trail: Commons Park\, 79 Main Street\, High Bridge\, NJ 08829\no Distance: 8 miles – wide\, natural surface 10 mile option\no Start: 8:30 pack weigh-in and immediate hike start afterwards\no Hike Coordinators: Tonia Adams / 610 751 4353 and Denise Mitterando fotodoc@optonline.net / 908 294 1952\no Directions: To reach the west\, or High Bridge \, end of the trail from 1-78\, take exit for State Route 31 North. Turn right on West Main Street. After crossing under the railroad tracks\, turn left. Trailhead parking is on the left just past the borough hall.\n· Fees:\no If you are doing one 10 mile hike $20 per dog\no If you are doing both days 8 miles each day $25 per dog\no Fun Hike – Free\n· Miscellaneous Details:\no Dog’s weight must be provided by vet clinic documentation within 7 days of hike. We will also have a scale to weigh the dogs\, but it is recommended that you get vet clinic documentation if possible.\no The Pack Dog Hikes will be conducted per the GSMDCA Pack Dog Rules. All GSMD’s over 18 months the day of the hike are eligible for Working Pack Dog Titles.\no Bitches in season are allowed to participate.\no First and foremost\, hikes are to be conducted with the safety and well-being of the canine and human participants in mind. The Hike Coordinator is authorized to make any necessary decisions to protect the health and safety of the dogs and handlers.\no Dogs must complete both Friday and Saturday 8 mile hikes to receive two legs toward their pack dog title. The 10 mile will receive one pack dog leg.\no Only one dog per handler is allowed if hiking for a pack dog leg.
