Bugling Elk follows a small stream down to Elk Falls Pond. Staunton Ranch Trail has 2 small intermittent stream crossings. Route will reverse to return to the start. Option on 10/31 for 10 Mile pack hike leg by adding Davis Meadow Trail at the end of the out and back route. Elevation gain 1\,574. Stephens State Park trails consist of mostly dirt/clay/sand equestrian trails that are wide enough for two or three teams to walk side by side. The trails are shady and well groomed. There are some portions of the trail that are grassy roadside or lakeshore passages and other portions that may cross paved roads within the park. There is at least one wooden bridge.
