We will meet in the parking lot @ 7am on Saturday. The lot is located on S. Montgomery off of Ojai Avenue. Sign posted says “Parking Libbey Bowl Tennis”. It is on the right hand side of the street about 1/2 mile down. Once all packs are weighed\, we will be off;) Hike should take about 3-3.5 hours. Hope to see you and your Swissies there! DESCRIPTION:Date(s) of Pack Hike\n\n\n\nDecember 4-5\, 2021\n\n\nEvent Name\n\n\n\nGSMDCR Rail Trail Pack Hikes – Park City Area\, Utah\n\n\nHike Location/Address/Directions/Map\n\n\n\nSaturday December 4th hike starts on the north end of the Rail Trail at the Echo Reservoir Dam (at I-80 and I-84 interchange\, 6138 Echo Dam Road\, Coalville\, UT) and will go south for 4 miles and back to the start. 10-mile option will add a mile out-and-back at the beginning or end. \nSunday December 5th hike will start at the Wanship trail head (100-132 Old Lincoln Highway\, Coalville\, UT) and head north for 4 miles and return. 10-mile option will add a mile out-and-back at the beginning or end.\n\n\nHosting GSMDCA Recognized Regional Club\n\n\n\nGreater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of the Rockies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrief Trail Description\n\n\n\nThe Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail is a 28-mile\, high-elevation\, flat trail that is mostly dirt and gravel. As it passes through the wetlands and farms near Wanship and Silver Creek Canyon\, a menagerie of wildlife—including fox\, bald eagles\, herons\, moose\, deer and beaver—often appears near the trail.
