Head south on 126 (Pine Valley Road) to the Historic Pine Townsite. Continue south on 126 (Deckers Road) until you reach Cheesman Reservoir and turn west onto 211 Wigwam Creek Road. This good dirt road enters the Hayman Fire Burn Area. After driving up the hill\, turn right (west) onto Goose Creek Road. Follow Goose Creek Road until it ends. There will some intersections but there are also signs pointing the way. At the end of Goose Creek Road\, you’ll find the Goose Creek Trailhead and Parking Area.\n\n\nBrief Trail Description\n\n\n\nThe Goose Creek Trail (#612) provides access into the southeast portion of the Lost Creek Wilderness. The trail winds north and eventually ends in Wigwam Park at a junction with the Wigwam Trail (#609). The Goose Creek Trail offers primitive camping\, fishing in Goose Creek\, and views of red Pikes Peak granite formations. A popular day hike is up the lower Goose Creek Trail to a side trail leading to several historic buildings and the remains of a shaft house. These old buildings and machinery date back to the late 1800’s/early 1900’s when a company attempted without success to create a reservoir by sealing the underground channel of the Lost Creek. This is where we will meet to do the weigh-in. \nDirections from Pittsburgh: Take I-376 to its end (near mile marker 85) and continue onto US 22E\, (William Penn Highway). Go 10.1 miles on US 22\, exit onto SR 66 north towards Delmont. Turn left onto State Route 66\, go 11.6 miles. Take a slight right to stay onto State Route 66 N.\, go to 2.6 miles\, and turn right onto Kiski Avenue. Go 0.8 miles\, keep right to continue onto Canal Road. Go 0.5 miles\, turn right into the trail head parking lot.\n\n\nBrief Trail Description\n\n\n\nThe initial 3 miles have a crushed limestone surface and fairly level while the final 2 miles involve some steeper climbs. Interquest Parkway turns into State Highway 83 at Powers Boulevard. Continue 0.85 mile and turn east onto Shoup Road. Continue 6.5 miles on Shoup Road to the stop sign at Vollmer Road. Turn north\, and proceed for 0.60 mile to the entrance of Pineries Open Space on the east side of the road.\nFrom East Woodmen Road\, drive 0.20 north on Black Forest Road and turn east onto Vollmer Road. Travel south on County Road 29 for approximately 2 miles. Turn right on County Road 18 E\, and continue approximately 2 miles to the entrance station where permits can be purchased for $10. After you have a permit\, return to County Road 18 E and go west to Pinewood Reservoir and Ramsay-Shockey Open Space. (parking lot is the last one at the top of the reservoir\, go past the camping area)\n\n\nBrief Trail Description\n\n\n\nRamsay-Shockey Open Space has a four-mile natural surface trail that climbs gently and then contours around the Pinewood Reservoir.
