Turn into parking area.\n\n\nBrief Trail Description\n\n\n\nBlack Forest Section 16 is a square-shaped loop in the Black Forest\, north of Colorado Springs. The trail is a fairly wide gravel path with very little elevation change. The area is heavily forested\, providing some shade during your hike. The hike will complete the loop twice. This is a great training hike to join us for a 4 mile loop if you are just getting started. \nPlease RSVP\, Plan to meet at 7:30 and hiking by 8:00. Interquest Parkway turns into State Highway 83 at Powers Boulevard. Continue 0.85 mile and turn east onto Shoup Road. Continue 6.5 miles on Shoup Road to the stop sign at Vollmer Road. Turn north\, and proceed for 0.60 mile to the entrance of Pineries Open Space on the east side of the road.\nFrom East Woodmen Road\, drive 0.20 north on Black Forest Road and turn east onto Vollmer Road.
